THE MAIN AIM OF THE PROJECT WAS TO INCREASE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN TRADITIONAL TIMBER FRAMING IN BALTIC STATES. Thus, timber framing knowledge was gathered from Masters in Baltic region and shared to target group increasing their competence level and, therefore, competitiveness.
Project challenge was to secure opportunities for young people to acquire basic traditional woodworking and timber framing skills in short as possible time through practical training and in efficient way; thus, securing competence leading to employment or even own small business start-up in future.
As a result, during 2023-2024 were organised 4 TRAINING PROGRAMS IN LATVIA AND 4 – IN ESTONIA. Each training program was 10 days long and led by 2 Masters team – from Latvia and Estonia.
In total in Latvia and Estonia in traditional woodworking and timber framing were trained 83 young people

Concluding activities in both countries were WORKPLACE-BASED INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS together with entrepreneurs and Masters from Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Romania, Finland.
In Estonia international workshop task for participants was to renovate Miikse Churche timber frame wooden roof construction in South Estonia.
Workshop challenge in Latvia was to elaborate and build new timber frame construction for potential open outdoor class at Bulduri Technical school premises.
Therefore, project target audience – young people under employment risk had the possibility to apply during trainings acquired knowledge and work in international environment together with experienced industries stakeholders.

SPECIALISTS FROM ROMANIA, SWEDEN, SPAIN were involved in project successful realization as external experts to share their knowledge and know-how in training program organization, methodology and educational material elaboration.
As a result of successful collaboration and experience share between countries and professionals in frame of project there was elaborated educational publication TIMBER FRAMING. A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS.
It contains all the needed information for project target audience and everyone interested in traditional timber framing and new knowledge in woodworking acquisition.
